IDAHO EYE SCREENING STORY: (from another Idaho Lions Club)

Email Received from school administrator:

Thought you might want to know that the Lions Club screened 680 kids for us. It would have TAKEN MONTHS BEFORE WE WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO ALL THOSE KIDS. We got a call from a mom this morning thanking us for referring her child to the doctor. The Dr. told her that had she not come when she did her child probably would have lost the sight in her right eye. So again thank you so very much and please know that we do appreciate you very much and need your help to get his job of vision testing done.

Lions Clubs International was established in 1917 and enjoys a membership of nearly 1.35 million men and women in approximately 45,000 clubs located in 197 countries and geographic areas. Learn more about Lions International or read their Mission Statement.

The Burley Lions Club was established 1938 and has been working to enhance our community through service ever since. We are a very active local service club. We provide support to our community through financial contributions and hands on volunteer service projects. If you would like to join our club and be part of the largest service club organization in world, please express that interest to any club member that you know in the community. If you see a need that needs attention within our community that you believe we might be able to help with, please let us know. We also sponsor a large Leo Club at Burley High School that seeks out opportunities to serve.

The Lions Club of Burley coordinates two very successful Jr. Jazz little league basketball programs in the winter. One league is for boys, and the other for girls. The leagues are available to 5th and 6th graders. The games take place at White Pine Intermediate School on Saturday mornings. (Address: 1900 Hiland Ave. Burley) The cost to be involved with the program is either $15.00 per child, or $5.00 per child and a good used coat, which is donated to the Mini-Cassia Christmas Council. Click on our basketball page for more information including schedules, rosters and volunteer assignments. Please share any nice pictures you have of seasons past or present that you would be willing to have posted on our site with the webmaster.

Do you need an Eyesight / Hearing aide assistance application? It is a PDF file. If you cannot open and view the file, get the Adobe Acrobat reader from here.
