Additional Details about the Spudman Lottery

The Spudman Triathlon is going to use a LOTTERY SYSTEM for its registration in 2009. Registration will be open from January 5th at 12:00 PM (Noon) through April 15th at midnight. There will be a $5.00 non-refundable charge to put your name in the "hat". The total fees for the race are $75.00 this year. If your name is selected, the $5.00 lottery registration will be applied to the cost of the race.




Racers can register for the lottery as an individual, 2 person team, 3 person team, or as a group of individual racers (up to 4 racers; if this registration is drawn, all group members get in; if not, no racers get in).

If you register as a Team, yet still running the race as individual participants, can each participant register each other giving more opportunity to get picked in the lottery?

Are individuals who live in the Burley area getting any preference in the lottery? I.e., is everyone getting a "fair" shot at entry? It seems this lottery idea is to address the issue of many local residents not gaining entry last race.

3 months of waiting? How can I plan my race season when I don't know if I'm in or not until late April? Also, veterans of this race should have first chance (even though that would not be me). Do like LOTOJA. Register based on number of finishes. There's always Vikingman.
